Entrepreneur, Founder, and CEO of Repurpose Thinking LLC and Woman Unsilenced nonprofit organization, Lonett “Cookie” Williams, is one of the newest JIE scholarship fellows at Columbia University, and 2023 recipient of the Black Wall St.’s distinguished Joe Mann Award, acknowledging her work in Entrepreneurship, a powerful example of triumph and resilience. Known for her role as the star of BET Plus' American Gangster Trap Queens, Cookie (as she is affectionately called) has triumphed over immense challenges defying the odds and emerging victorious.
In support of her career choice, Cookie has earned certifications as a Master Life Coach with a Niche in Entrepreneurship, Mental Health First Aid, and recently in the Mindset of Entrepreneurship. As a single mother of two children, she explored several career paths but found freedom in entrepreneurship where she felt she belonged since the age of eleven. She had built an empire for herself and her family, amassing millions of dollars in real estate and other businesses. However, after a short string of miscalculated decisions amidst the recession of 2008, her empire crumbled, and she found herself facing a 10-year prison sentence.
Lonett began rebuilding her life long before her release from prison. She prioritized her relationship with God and committed to mentoring incarcerated women, by sharing her gift of resilience. Since her release from custody in 2021, Lonett consistently used her Nonprofit organization and her podcast, “The Sisteration Room”, to bridge the gap between society and returning citizens. By the end of 2021, Repurpose Thinking LLC was formed. She is committed to inspiring women over 50+ and empowering the underserved black and brown community with her Mindset based Entrepreneurial workshops and programs. Being intentional about creating something new out of something you already know how to do, developing and challenging our clients to persist through adversity building resilience is repurposed thinking that cultivates the spirit of entrepreneurship. She says, …

To empower our BIPOC, and underserved trauma-impacted women and their families with the tools, support Financial Literacy, and technical skills to help them regain their sense of self-worth.
With the recidivism rate as high as 76%, and mass incarceration of women at 750% over the past 3 decades, 475 over the past 2 decades and NYC currently has the 2nd highest population of those without homes in the nation, we see our BIPOC and underserved community becoming the Change Makers. Being informed, equipped with the skills required to earn a liveable wage can breath new life into the community.
